Entering the Mysterious Forest

The first official Spirits Of The Forest Moonlight track is here!

After a long time with no inspiration for this specific album I have finally come to a satisfying music.
I wanted this first track to sound extremely mysterious, like going into a foggy and wet forest for the first time, looking for something magical. I wanted to represent the hunting and the curiosity for the odd things, like when Princess Aurora is lured to the spindle into the dark tower.

I started with the celesta and a pad in a minor scale, then I added some strings to keep it dark. As I added more strings strings the sound became brighter until I reached a climax.

Then I added a second part with a theme by the flute, that has a pristine tone, to make this part sound more open and light, but the chords made by the strings in the background give a weird feeling and sound a little confusing.

Then I returned to the original theme using some harp arpeggios, leading to the celesta again. The end is not really clear, there are strings and pads very still and I used one of my favorite chords (Dm6) to close the score.

I plan now to go on with the other tracks using little instruments and more pads: I wanted this song to be an intro and then proceed with more minimalistic tunes.

I hope you are enjoying this project as much as I’m doing!
