New year, new stuff

New year, new stuff

It’s been a month since my last update and I’m back with some new stuff.
I have finished the murderers couple: I refined the track with some suggestions that my professor gave me, especially in the middle section and in the ripresa. I’m quite happy about the final result! 🙂

The next assignment is really exciting: we have to work on a mood board.
It’s the first time for me to work on an actual movie project, so I find it very interesting and challenging; the movie is about a love story and we received five pictures that set the setting and the main characters as well as the mood and the photography. I will attach here the five pictures in the correct order:

As you can see the story is about two people knowing each other, beginning to date and falling in love, then starting to fight and to be disappointed, until the end, where they probably continue to be in love.

I decided to focus on the firs two pictures and to express the clumsiness of the first dates, when you feel awkward and insecure. I started with a clear pattern of pizzicato by the strings and for now I just wrote the main theme on the piano – I wanted to know my professor’s opinion before orchestrating it. I used odd times signatures because I didn’t want the score to be too square and I used a lot of short dissonances.

I don’t know if you’re curious about the sheet music, but here’s how it looks:

I should probably have changed the key signature in the second part, but since it’s a draft I hope the professor won’t be too bothered.

Also I’ve been working at a new Spirits Of The Forest Moonlight track; unfortunately I don’t have a draft to share with you because I’m working in a completely different way and the track would sound too messy, but I can show you how my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) looks like in this project:

See you next time!
