When experiments fail

When experiments fail

After long discussions about my last score I decided to start over with a new piece of music based on the same assignment.

My professor left the university for personal issues, so we are working with a new composer – he’s very straightforward and funny, he has a different approach but I like him.

I decided to go back to my original creative style, using the whole orchestra: I started with some delicate strings, then added the piano with a simple intro, and then I added a theme made by the clarinet; I wanted the score to sound very “Disneysh”, so I kept the chord progression clean and easy. I also added a small part for the celesta, that I find perfect for a childlike environment – I tried to choose warm instruments to stick with the painting’s colours.

I’m not sure about some minor things, but this is just a draft – I can’t wait to hear the new professor’s suggestions!
