12 Sep the end of summer
Hello everyone!
This odd summer is about to end, and I’m here to talk about news and latest experiences.
The exams went really great, I’m very happy about it. I began to work at a new project right after, and two new albums has been released: Iwari (Thundergryph Games) and Rise of Tribes (Breaking Games). They are two very similar project, since the games are all about tribes, but I started working at Rise of Tribes in the first quarter of 2019 so I had almost all the scores ready by June. I was really inspired by the various tribes of the game and especially by the drawings by Sergio Chavez (you can read some insights here and here), but I had to fix some things and to make some new songs for the new tribes.
Iwari has a more tribal feel, so I started working at the score using lots of percussions (you can find some of the first tracks here), then I realised that I had to fill the album with some more relaxing scores, in order to give some space between the Latin and African inspired songs.
You can find both the scores here on Spotify π
September is usually a time of the year in which I make plans and organise the work, I’m always super excited and I feel like it’s sort of a new year’s eve. This year some things are evolving in a different way: I will not go back to my old job (teaching music to young children), so I decided to change my University course to a more intensive one, doubling up the hours. So I’m looking forward to meeting my new classmates even if all the classes will be online – I don’t mind staying at home right now π
I obviously have new Thundergryph projects on the way, but I can’t really tell much about them… What I can tell you is that a new trailer is coming in October and it will be stunning! I already played the prototype and I absolutely love itΒ :3
I also have a full soundtrack to be released in 2021 and I’m taking some time to do some research to get a little inspiration, because I want it to be absolutely beautiful. I’m talking about Spirits of the Forest – Moonlight (the latest Thundergryph’s Kickstarter campaign).
Last but not least, I’m working on two more personal projects: a complete sci-fi album, that’s my favorite video and board game genre and that I feel really comfortable with, and a mix of 24 sound-postcards based on the Chinese’s Solar Terms. I will talk about this latter project more specifically in the future, since I have a clear idea about it but I haven’t started to actually compose any tracks yet.
So, here is what I’ve been up to this summer! Now it’s time to get ready for all this challenges, I can’t wait!
