I’ve always been into sci-fi since I can remember.
My father is a great fan of Isaac Asimov and he shared his passion with me (he did the same with music): we watched a lot of sci-fi movies and as I grew up this passion became stronger thanks to video games (another shared passion). One of my favorite books is 1984 by George Orwell: I have always been fascinated by dystopian novels, and I love Philip Dick and Aldous Huxley too.
I absolutely love sci-fi movies too, but the list of my favorite ones would be terribly long!
Regarding video games, on the other hand, I’m super picky and there are not so many games that I can claim to be over the top: I will mention Metal Gear Solid and Oddworld for sentimental reasons, but on top of that Mass Effect – Andromeda, Horizon – Zero Dawn and Detroit – Become human. A special mention goes to No Man’s Sky, that I don’t like that much but I still enjoy playing.
What I love about these video games is that there’s an entire universe to be discovered, and I love the feeling of exploring. I have always been fascinated by how the human mind can create such incredible and different worlds, and sometimes I spend time looking at my little telescope wondering about time and distance.
All of that is what inspires me and what I would like to share: this sense of unknown, the hunting for the other, the concepts of time and space and how they are closely connected, the discovery and the beauty of what’s different.
