Developing a track

Developing a track

After listening to all the tracks my Film Scoring teacher suggested to develop them – about 2 minutes long.

The first one (the one related to the mirror) turned out into this:

It reminds me of Final Fantasy VIII, probably the first RPG videogame I’ve ever played – I have been very inspired by its music! It could fit Wingspan, maybe?

The second one it’s more mysterious – I found a voice recording of a poem by Sylvia Plath named “Mirror” and I added to the track with some effects:

Regarding the other two tracks inspired by the moon’s haiku I developed just one. I liked the two violas playing intertwined lines, but I wanted the track to change completely its feel without losing the melody; I added some violins that could contrast with the melody and then changed the chords in the middle section, without changing very much the melody. At the end I placed violas and violins together:

It’s been 6 months since I wrote these tracks, and I still enjoy them: I think that’s a good sign 😀
